Your Data Studio report
shows the visitors
who said yes.

A Data Studio report built on GA4 carries only the visitors who accepted the consent banner, and every stakeholder who opens it inherits that gap. The Sealmetrics template is a ready report on data measured without consent loss — traffic, sources, channels, landing pages, pages, countries and devices — copied into your own Data Studio account with one link and your API key.

Template with 7 data sources · read-only API key · 5-minute cache · gallery listing pending

Quick answer

The Sealmetrics Data Studio report is a ready-made template that one link copies into your own Data Studio account, reading your Sealmetrics data through the official connector. The connector is a Google Apps Script community connector that calls the Sealmetrics API with a read-only API key you enter once. It offers seven report types — traffic overview, traffic sources, pages, landing pages, countries, devices and channels — each a data source with its own dimensions and metrics, such as entrances, pageviews, conversions, revenue in the site's currency and bounce rate. The template connects all seven across a summary page and an audience and content page, and a date range control filters every chart. Because Sealmetrics measures without cookies, the figures do not lose the visitors who reject a consent banner. The data is aggregate, conversions are credited to the last click of their session, and the connector is still pending listing in Google's Partner Connector Gallery.

What the report contains

Seven report types.
One data source each.

Each report type is a separate data source with its own fields. The template adds all seven; building your own, you add only the ones a chart needs.

Report typeDimensionsMetricsTypical chart

Sources come from UTM parameters; revenue is typed to the site's currency; and bounce rate is a calculated field — entrances minus engaged entrances, over entrances — so it re-aggregates correctly when a chart groups rows. Conversions carry last-click attribution within the session, as in the dashboard.

What a GA4-based report carries

The report looks final.
Its base is not.

Data Studio makes any data source look authoritative. A report built on GA4 passes every gap in what GA4 collected to everyone who reads it.

01

Rejected visitors are not in the chart

A tag that waits for consent never records the visitor who says no. The Sealmetrics documentation puts the loss at 15–60% of EU visitors, depending on sector, brand strength and traffic mix; on Incapto's Shopify store, GA4 did not record 29% of visits over 48 days. The argument in full is on complete data.

02

The gap is not spread evenly

On that store, the reconciled view put paid campaigns at 62% of traffic, against 50% in GA4. A channel chart built on GA4 understates paid media in the one line that decides the budget.

03

Finance compares it with real orders

When the report is set against booked revenue, the difference reads as a reporting error rather than a consent effect. How to make both teams work from one figure is covered in one number for marketing and finance.

Connect it

One link.
One API key.

The one-click report is the fast path. The connector builds a single data source when you want your own layout; its link is in the Data Studio integration guide. Both ask for the same key.

  1. Create an API key

In Sealmetrics, go to My Account → API Keys and create a key or copy an existing one. API keys are read-only. For the one-click report, use a key restricted to a single site, so the connector can select that site on its own.

  2. Open the report or the connector

Open the one-click report link on this page to copy the Sealmetrics template, with its seven data sources, into your Data Studio account. To build one data source instead, open the Sealmetrics connector from the Data Studio integration guide in the documentation.

  3. Authorise the connector

On first use, Data Studio asks you to authorise the connector: click Authorize. If you are sent back to the Data Studio home with no error, your Google account does not have Viewer access to the connector yet; while the gallery listing is reviewed, write to support@sealmetrics.com with that Google email to be granted access.

  4. Enter your API key

Paste the API key when Data Studio asks for it and continue. The key is not part of the report link, so the link can be shared without exposing anyone's data.

  5. Choose the site and report type

In the one-click report, the site is selected automatically when the key can access only one site; a key with several sites returns an error asking you to choose the site in the data source. With the connector, select the site and a report type, then click Connect. Add further report types through Resource → Manage added data sources.

Where it fits

Same Data Studio.
A different base.

The template does not change how your team reports. It changes what the charts are calculated on.

Marketing lead

Report channels and revenue upward.

Entrances, conversions and revenue by channel, source and landing page, measured without consent loss, in the tool stakeholders already open.

GA4 reports

Can stay, for what depends on GA4.

Reports that join GA4 with Google Ads or Search Console can keep running while the budget view moves to the measured base.

Data team

Moves to BigQuery for SQL and joins.

When a report needs custom SQL or a join with spend or order tables, the BigQuery connector — included on every plan — writes the same measurement into your own project, and Data Studio reads it as a BigQuery source.

Agencies

Client reports on the client's own data.

A key restricted to the client's site opens that client's own copy of the template, with nothing from other accounts in it.

The gap it removes

No customer case about the Data Studio report is published, and this page does not claim one. The figures below are what GA4 did not record on Incapto's Shopify store during a 48-day parallel run checked against real orders — the gap a GA4-based report would have carried.

What it does not do

Know the edges
before you share it.

Most follow from reading an API rather than a warehouse. For SQL and joins on the same data, see the BigQuery connector.

Read-only, by design

API keys can only read statistics, sites and account data. The connector does not write to or change your Sealmetrics account.

An API, not a warehouse

Each view requests the selected date range from the Sealmetrics API. Responses are cached for 5 minutes, Data Studio may cache on its side, and long date ranges load more slowly.

One site per data source

Each data source reads one site. To report on several sites, add a data source per site and combine them in the same report.

Aggregates, last click per session

The report shows aggregate data with conversions credited to the last click of their session: no user-level paths, no multi-touch model, no view-through.

Gallery listing pending

The connector is pending listing in the Data Studio Partner Connector Gallery. Until it is listed, a Google account needs Viewer access to the connector, granted on request.

Bounce rate is not GA4's

Here a bounce is a single-page session. GA4 defines bounce rate as the share of sessions that were not engaged, so the two figures should not be compared directly.

Common Data Studio questions

Before you open
the template.

How do I get a Sealmetrics report in Data Studio?

Create an API key in Sealmetrics under My Account → API Keys, open the one-click report link on sealmetrics.com/data-studio, authorise the connector and enter the key. Data Studio copies the Sealmetrics template, with its seven data sources, into your account. Use a key restricted to one site so the site is selected automatically.

What does the Sealmetrics Data Studio template include?

Two pages, a summary and an audience and content page, built on seven report types: traffic overview by day, traffic sources by UTM source, medium, campaign and term, channels, landing pages, pages, countries and devices. The metrics include entrances, engaged entrances, pageviews, conversions, microconversions, revenue and bounce rate, depending on the report type.

Why does the connector send me back to the Data Studio home?

The connector is pending listing in the Data Studio Partner Connector Gallery, and until then a Google account needs Viewer access to it. If authorising redirects you to the Data Studio home with no error, write to support@sealmetrics.com with the Google email you use so access can be granted.

How fresh is the data in the report?

Each time a report is viewed, Data Studio requests the selected date range from the Sealmetrics API. The connector caches responses for 5 minutes and Data Studio may also cache on its side; the refresh button in the report viewer requests the data again.

Should I use the Data Studio connector or BigQuery?

Use the connector for dashboards with the standard metrics: it needs only an API key. Use the BigQuery connector, included on every Sealmetrics plan, when you need custom SQL, cross-table joins or to combine analytics with spend and order data; Data Studio can then read the BigQuery dataset directly.

Can one report cover several sites?

Yes, with one data source per site combined in the same report. The one-click template selects the site automatically only when the API key can access a single site; with a key for several sites, choose the site in each data source.

Does the connector access my Google account data?

No. The connector requests one Google permission, to make external requests, which it uses only to call the Sealmetrics API. It does not read your name, email, Drive, Sheets or any other Google service; it handles the API key, site and report type you enter and the fields each chart requests.
